When temporary relief is not enough
Your back should not run your whole day.
Stretching, rest, massage, or medication may quiet things down for a while. But when the same symptoms return, it is time to understand the pattern—not just chase the flare-up.
Sitting makes it louder
Desk work, driving, or long meals trigger low back, hip, or leg symptoms.
Relief never lasts
You loosen up, feel better briefly, then the same pressure or stiffness returns.
Pain travels
Numbness, tingling, or discomfort moves into the glute, hip, or leg.
Life gets smaller
Workouts, sleep, travel, yard work, or lifting your kids become negotiations.
Decompression with a purpose
A targeted tool—not a one-size-fits-all treatment.
At River City Wellness, spinal decompression is considered within a neurologically focused chiropractic process. Your exam guides the recommendation, and your response helps guide the plan.
- 1Listen before recommendingYour symptoms, health history, and goals shape the starting point.
- 2Examine the full patternWe look at your spine, movement, and neurological findings before suggesting care.
- 3Explain the next step clearlyIf decompression is not the best fit, we will tell you and help you understand why.

Why River City Wellness
Care should make sense before you say yes to it.
Our approach is built around clear answers, gentle care, and recommendations that fit real life. The goal is not to talk everyone into decompression. It is to understand your nervous system and spine well enough to recommend care responsibly.

Fit and safety
The right care starts with the right screening.
Spinal decompression can be useful for appropriate candidates. It is not right for everyone, which is why we start with a conversation and exam.
Good reasons to ask about decompression
- Recurring low back pain or stiffness
- Sciatica-like symptoms into the hip, glute, or leg
- Disc pressure concerns or prior disc findings
- Pain aggravated by sitting, bending, or lifting
Reasons we screen carefully first
- Recent surgery, fracture, or significant trauma
- Advanced osteoporosis or certain bone conditions
- Pregnancy or health history that changes care options
- Red-flag symptoms that need urgent medical evaluation
Common questions
Before you request a visit.
What does the first visit cost?
The consultation and exam are $97. X-rays, if recommended, are $25 per view. If you are a candidate, a decompression session is $67. We review any recommended service, its purpose, and its cost before you receive care.
Is spinal decompression painful?
Most candidates describe decompression as gentle and controlled. Your provider adjusts recommendations based on your exam, tolerance, and goals.
Will I know at the first visit if I am a candidate?
The first visit is designed to gather enough information to make a responsible recommendation. Some people may need imaging or a review of prior records before care begins.
Do I have to commit to a long plan?
No. Start with the consultation and exam. If care is appropriate, the team will explain the recommended plan, timeline, services, and cost before you decide.
What symptoms need urgent medical attention?
Loss of bladder or bowel control, saddle numbness, fever with severe back pain, new progressive weakness, or symptoms after major trauma warrant urgent medical evaluation. Call 911 or seek emergency care when appropriate.
